1HUNDRED DESIGNERS.....

I entered the label into a great competition being run by Lookk.com! I'm super excited about it because they are another great company that is out to help new and young designers. When your just starting out, everything can seem so daunting and just pretty impossible.. so opportunities like this are really invaluable  After day one we seem to be doing pretty well and there are some good opportunities in the pipeline for stocking the new collection in their online shop... to overall things are very exciting. The competition closes on the 30th of November and the top 100 designers will be presented to the panel...
There is a great presence from the Middlesex 2011 graduating class and I'm so glad to see everyone doing so well... check out everyone profile on the website- and most importantly just VOTE VOTE VOTE...
it only take a minute and you can register through facebook making it even faster. If you just click on the hearts that are on the collection images then you will be automatically added to the list of supporters!!

VERSACE for H&M...

In the string of High End/High Street collaborations, a sneak peak of Versace for H&M have leaked onto the web... the two looks shown are very different and give an insight into something exciting. We are particularly exciting by the mixture of prints on the black bomber jacket!

CAROLYN MASSEY RETURNS....

One of PRINTEDMAN'S favourite menswear designers has sadly been away for a couple of seasons concentrating on design consultancy... but the good news is in, and she's back with an amazing collaboration with ASOS....

Ravishing Ravine Lookbooks...

Although I havn't even finished the collection, I am always thinking about the ways in which I can represent it when it is done... I love this SS12 lookbook by Ravishing Ravine... firstly I LOVE the bearded model, but more importantly I love the soft narrative behind the pictures...

I DONT WANT NO RETRO SPECTIVE....

Ruscha presented I Don't Want No Retro Spective to his friend Bud Cort following Cort’s near-death accident on the Hollywood Freeway in 1979. Ruscha gave the work to the actor on his hospital bed, yet the phrase depicted, 'I Don't Want No Retro Spective,' goes back several years earlier, when the pair was having dinner together at a Los Angeles restaurant. As Cort recalls, Ruscha had just returned from a show in Switzerland where he had mentioned that he had come across a theatre that was screening three of Bud's films - Brewster McCloud, Harold and Maude and Why Shoot the Teacher? - and referred to it as somewhat of a 'Cort retrospective'. In response, the actor paused then proclaimed, “I don't want no retro spective”. Ruscha found this statement so amusing that he decided to memorialize it in one of his works, waiting for the appropriate moment to surprise Mr. Cort......

THOSE SHOES GOT SOLE!....

Now I'm not sure if its just personal preference, or whether others agree- but lately I'm not attracted by 6 inch heels, but more 3 in platforms!..
Now it all started with my first pair, bought from a fellow classmates graduate show shoes..and frankly I don't think I'll go back....

For some people that know me, you may think 'but you never seemed like much of a heels person'. Now this is both true and untrue, I did APPEAR not to be a heel person, because I just couldnt hack it; I don't want sore feet, I don't want blisters and I don't like to defy gravity whilst trying to enjoy a pint. HOWEVER, I do like the height. I'm not sure if its just drilled into a girls head that wearing heels make you sexy, but whatever the reason, it does. SO.... the platform forms the perfect bridge. You get the height, and often some really unique designs, but you also get an amazing comfort factor. I indeed find my platforms even more comfortable then most my flat shoes... food for thought...

Now here is a few images that I feel show the amazing-ness of the platform as well as a few recent purchases....
